Our Mission Statement: To help churches create a practical, economical and legal plan of action for recording, selling and distributing their music.
Ever since “Jesus Music” burst on the scene in the early 1970s, closely followed by “Praise and Worship Music” in the 1980s, the “British Invasion” in the 1990s, etc., more and more churches have aspired to record their own music. Though it can be a very rewarding and team-building experience, many have found the process to be overwhelming, costly and very time-consuming. Others have had negative experiences with producers or other “professionals” that are really just out to make a quick buck and who often don't have the church's best interests in mind.
TraVerseCity Music was created for those churches who want to tangibly share what God's doing in their midst through their music and worship ministry, but who may lack the experience, administrative resources and music industry connections to do so affordably, efficiently and at a high level of quality. We exist to be a resource for music directors and worship leaders who want help negotiating the maze of financial, logistical and legal challenges that can be involved in the production, sales and distribution of their church’s recorded music.

Meet Our Executive Director
Mark McClure’s passion and calling is to equip local churches in the areas of worship and music. In doing so over the past three decades, he’s worn many hats, and often wears several at the same time! These include those of producer, recording artist, songwriter, worship leader, choir director, arranger, orchestrator and project manager.
Prior to launching TraVerseCity Music, a division of Indie Extreme, LLC, Mark spent 13 years at Nashville, TN-based Word Music, most recently as Director of Choral and Instrumental Product. With a career spanning nearly three decades in length, he has extensive experience in the Christian music industry and in local church music ministry. He incorporates a seasoned musical professional’s perspective with a pastor’s heart, and is equally at-home coaching one-on-one or addressing committees, congregations and conventions. His involvement as a volunteer and/or music minister in Methodist, Nazarene, Assembly of God, Episcopal and non-denominational churches has provided him with a broad and unique perspective on ancient and contemporary evangelical and liturgical worship styles and practices.
“I’m delighted that God has been preparing me through my experience in the studio and as a worship leader/music minister to come alongside churches that are wanting to get their music outside of their four walls and into the hands, heads and hearts of their communities and the nations,” Mark says. “It’s incredible to see a fresh new wave of musical creativity bubbling up in the local church during the past several years. I’ve spoken with and have played in many churches over the years who’ve wanted to create their own recording projects—and some have—but the majority found the hurdles to be daunting and gave up somewhere along the way. TraVerseCity Music is here to help them fulfill their dreams and calling. I’m thrilled to be affiliated with them! Kudos to Kathy Douglas of Indie Extreme, our parent division, who saw this need and is creatively moving to fill it in such a cool way!”
