This past weekend the band and I had the opportunity to play in Austin, Texas at SXSW (South by Southwest). This is a music, film, art festival where people come from all over the would to perform, network, connect, and enjoy the creative process.
What an amazing environment! 6th street in Austin was literally brimming with energy, good vibes, and the joy and celebration of the craft in it’s many levels of raw to refined.
If you ever get the chance to be a part of SXSW I highly recommend the experince. It was an honor to be there and to share my music along with so many. It gave me hope that the enjoyment of music is alive and well and reminded me that there is always room for new and creative expressions even as the business of the music world falls apart all around us. There is an opportunity right now to get back to something raw and real, and that is a hopeful thought

Would like to come by and hear you at The Loft…When are you back at home? Would also like to see you do the National Worship Leader Conference…a powerful venue for learning/experiencing, etc. I like how you speak…what you say(your music ain’t bad either…haha:-) As a worship leader, what you say is as important as what you sing. Thanks for your good work.
Thanks Christine…my schedule at the LOFT is always on my website and myspace page. mattbrouwer.com and myspace.com/mattbrouwermusic
hope to see you there soon!
