From a kitchen table record distribution to national tours in 18-wheelers, every artist has different needs and different dreams. Where does a manager enter the picture? Panelists include three managers who work with several of the hottest acts in the Texas music industry today:

George Couri, Triple 8 Management, Austin, who represents Kevin Fowler, Jack Ingram, the Eli Young Band and Joe Nichols;

Howie Edelman, Durango Artist Management, Fort Worth, who has worked for some time with Roger Creager and recently added Cody Johnson to his roster; and

Denise Nichols, The Primacy Firm, Nashville. In addition to her entertainment law practice, she acts as management consultant for Bleu Edmondson and other up and coming artists.

The managers will share their approaches to bringing creative vision to the marketplace and maximizing each artist’s strengths.

In addition to the management session, the seminar agenda includes sessions on using social media, getting radio airplay, “Fan funding” and eating right on the road. Sessions cover business-related matters for recording artists, musicians, songwriters, promoters-anyone making music in Texas.

This year’s Keynote Interview is with Pat Green. The most-played artists in Texas during the first 10 years of the Texas Music Chart, Green shares ups and downs of the pursuit of his art and stories from the roads he’s traveled and the stages he’s played.

“I’ve Made a Record…Now What?” is sponsored by Indie Extreme, Major Label Resources for Independent Labels and Artists (www.indieextreme.com) and is presented by the weekly Texas Music Chart and monthly Best In Texas® Music Magazine.
