Music Career Seminar Adds Session on Sponsorship and Branding

“You are the brand,” says Bob Cohen, who has worked and consulted in the media, sports, and entertainment fields for over 30 years.  Cohen is the latest addition to the annual music industry career seminar, “I’ve Made a Record…Now What?” February 1 in Houston.

Cohen will advise about how to use sponsorship effectively to give a return on investment in a session called, “Sell the Sizzle without Selling Out.” The session is based on Cohen’s expertise in sports marketing and media advertising.  He advises San Antonio Missions baseball, Utah Grizzlies hockey, and Yahoo! Sports Radio among other brands, including Best In Texas magazine.

He’ll discuss how to make your product – you – attractive to sponsors.  He’ll share tips on what to offer potential sponsors and what they might expect from a relationship with you.

During the past ten years, “I’ve Made a Record…Now What?” has been a source of education and networking for the burgeoning Texas music scene covering business-related matters for recording artists, musicians, songwriters, promoters, and others making music in Texas.

Singer-songwriter Pat Green is the Keynote Interview for the annual music industry event.  He releases his eleventh album, a sequel to his 2001 hit collaboration with Cory Morrow, titled Songs We Wish We’d Written II, in February.

Also on the seminar agenda are sessions on using social media, getting radio airplay, management issues, “Fan funding” and eating right on the road.

The seminar is sponsored by Indie Extreme, Major Label Resources for Independent Labels and Artists (www.indieextreme.com).  As well as the weekly Texas Music Chart and monthly Best In Texas® Music Magazine.

“I’ve Made a Record…Now What?” will be held 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Wednesday, February 1, at the “Show Room” at Dave & Buster’s, 6010 Richmond Avenue at Fountainview in Houston, four miles east of the Sam Houston Tollway and 3 miles west of Loop 610.

Registration is $129.00 per person and includes all seminar sessions, seminar workbook, and Dave & Buster’s lunch.

Registration is available online at www.TexasMusicChart.com/Pages/seminar.htm or by phone at 713-952-9221.
