Long Awaited Debut Album “You Were Meant To Be” Released Digitally

NASHVILLE, TN (Dec. 2009) – Kare Entertainment LLC, the independent label of Kaitlyn Maher –  the 5 year old singing sensation who won the hearts of millions with her vocal talent and personality on NBC’s hit show Amercia’s Got Talent – recently signed a distribution deal to release her debut album “You Were Meant To Be” with the Nashville-based label management firm, Indie Extreme, through  the firm’s partnership with Universal Music Christian Group (UMCG).

Kaitlyn’s Christmas singles “Away in A Manager” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” were the first to be released to radio and the digital retail stores. The release of the full album is set for early December at iTunes, Amazon, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com and other online digital retailers.  The physical CD is available for ordering only at www.KaitlynMaher.com and is set to ship on December 17th in time for Christmas.

A welcome departure from typical debut projects, “You Were Meant To Be,” produced by Grammy award winner Robert Reynolds (The Mavericks) and Scotty Huff (former guitar player for Keith Urban), is peppered with originality and personality.   The album includes world-class musicians who have played for some of the biggest names in the music industry including the Dave Matthews Band, Kid Rock, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill, George Strait, Michael W. Smith, and Amy Grant.

Kaitlyn co-wrote two of the CD’s most memorable songs, “Daddy, I Love You” and “Dreams Come True.”  “Daddy, I Love You” is a heart-stirring ballad written by a loving daughter to her doting dad as she grows up. “Dreams Come True” is remarkable not only in the way the chorus’ rapturous classical melody sticks in your head but also because it was the first song Kaitlyn ever started writing, at only four years old.

The album includes a fresh arrangement of the up-tempo foot-stomper “I Can See Clearly Now” and showcases a bit of Kaitlyn’s spunky side. The title cut, “You Were Meant to Be,” offers encouragement to forge ahead in the midst of struggles.  “Amazing Grace” sneaks up on you from its hauntingly beautiful piano intro to its innocently delicate ending.  The album would be incomplete without “Somewhere Out There,” a live-performance favorite that Kaitlyn first sang on America’s Got Talent.  Indeed, Kaitlyn breathes freshness and vitality into each song, making them uniquely her own.

Since becoming the youngest artist ever to make it into the Top 10 as a Finalist on America’s Got Talent, Kaitlyn was a featured entertainer at the White House for then-President and First Lady Bush.  Kaitlyn has headlined at large venues throughout the country (including performing before audiences of over 40,000) and has appeared on the Today Show, Access Hollywood, ESPN, in People magazine, as well as other prominent interviews, newspapers and websites around the world.  Kaitlyn is planning a media campaign in mid-December and will be performing songs from her album as well as recently released Christmas singles on radio and television programs such as both Fox and Friends’ Christmas Salute to the Troops special as well as the Bonnie Hunt Show.

Kaitlyn debuts in the just released direct-to-DVD Disney movie, Santa Buddies.  To top things off, she was selected by Disney to be the lead actress in The Search for Santa Paws,  filmed in Vancouver, Canada and scheduled for release November 2010.

Throughout this journey, Kaitlyn has been passionate about following her heart and helping others.  She was honored to be selected by Compassion International – one of the largest aid organizations in the world – to be their first ever Child Ambassador to raise awareness of and address global child poverty.  She is planning a trip to Guatemala on behalf of Compassion to bring relief to the children in need.  Kaitlyn will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from her You Were Meant to Be CD and merchandise to Compassion’s efforts.
