Indie Extreme Signs Christian Artist Quimi

California Native to Join The Katinas on Their Family Christmas Tour

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 2008) – Christian AC and inspirational artist Quimi (kee-me) of Franklin, Tenn., has signed a label administration and social media marketing deal with the independent record label management firm Indie Extreme, company CEO Kathy Douglas has announced.

In related news, the performer will join the popular Christian act The Katinas on their eight-city Family Christmas Tour from Dec. 5-19, 2008.   Quimi, whose single All For Love has hit the top-10 on the Global AC and Inspo charts, will make concert stops in California, Tennessee and Pennsylvania.

Indie Extreme, which works with musical acts ranging from folk legend Judy Collins to hit CCM artist Matt Brouwer, will represent the artist and her first independent album, self-titled Quimi.  She also will join The Katinas on a week-long Pacific cruise in January 2009.

“Quimi is receiving substantial airplay with her first single, and she is very excited about joining The Katinas on their Family Christmas Tour and Friends Cruise,” Douglas said.  “We are delighted to have her join our growing independent artist roster.”

Quimi, who recently moved to Franklin, Tenn., received national attention last April when she was featured in Indie Extreme’s Independent Artist Showcase during GMA Week in Nashville.  A former nationally ranked tennis player from Turlock, Calif., Quimi has been writing songs for five years.  Her 10-song self-titled CD, which was produced by The Katinas, features charismatic vocals and funk, jazz and reggae-accented songs.

The first single from the album, All For Love, has aired on radio stations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa.  In November, the song climbed to number five on the Global AC Chart and number three on the Global Inspo Chart.

“I’m so blessed to be able to worship God through music and give back what he’s given me,” said Quimi, who attends Bethel World Outreach Center in Franklin, Tenn.  “My prayer is that it will inspire others to seek God’s purpose for their lives and live wholeheartedly on fire for him.”

Quimi will perform on The Katinas’ Family Christmas Tour in San Jose, Calif., on Dec. 5; Concord, Calif., on Dec. 6 and 7; Sacramento, Calif., on Dec. 7; Turlock, Calif., on Dec. 8; Franklin, Tenn., on Dec. 10; Philadelphia on Dec. 13; Gardena, Calif., on Dec. 18; and San Bernardino, Calif., on Dec. 19.

The artist also will join The Katinas on their Friends Cruise in San Diego on Jan. 19; at sea off California on Jan. 20; in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Jan. 21; at sea on Jan. 22; in Ensenada, Mexico, on Jan. 23; and in San Diego on Jan. 24.

“Indie Extreme is a blessing to me and my family,” Quimi added.  “They are guiding my career, helping me make connections and develop my ministry for the Lord.  I’ve only been singing for a short time, so it’s hard to believe my first single and album are doing so well.”
